Antis Hvichave of Georgia was met by guests in her bed room to celebrate her 130th Birthday and easily establishes herself as the oldest woman on earth.
This Long liver was born in 1880 in the village of Sachino in the Abkhazeti region of western Georgia. For several decades, she worked at a local farm. She was one of the best tea pickers on the plantation according to her own recollection. This status can not be disputed by anyone seeing as Antis has long out lived any of her past employers and we will certainly take her word for it.
Antis is a happy and quite proud grand, great-grand and great-great-grandmother. She has 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
This year, employees of the local registrar intend to contact the Guinness Book of Recordsso this woman can be officially included in the book as the oldest person on Earth. Today, the record is recognized for 120 – year-old Gertrude Baines, who lives in California.
- Jeanne Calment (1875–1997, 122 years, 164 days): the oldest person in history whose age has been verified by modern documentation. This defines the modern human life span, which is set by the oldest documented individual who ever lived.
- Shigechiyo Izumi (1865–1986, 120 years, 237 days, disputed): the second oldest male ever recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records; this is questioned by some scholars, who believe that conflation of dates or names has compromised the authenticity of Izumi’s age
Some interesting facts
Georgia, for many years has been home to a large society of long-livers. According to the manager Khachatur Vartanyantsa of the registrars office, the data from 2008, showed the country registered more than 12 thousand citizens over 90 years of age.
Clean mountain air and healthy food must play a key role in this longevity.
Reflections on longevity have usually gone beyond acknowledging the brevity of human life and have included thinking about methods to extend life.
